The 2026 IAPR Senior Biometrics Investigator Award (SBIA) has been awarded to P. Jonathon Phillips of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), USA. This award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to the biometrics community and whose research has had a major impact on the field. Phillips was recognized for “outstanding contributions toward developing and organizing competitions to advance face recognition and biometric algorithms.”
