The IAPR Best Biometrics Student Paper Award (BBSPA) was established to recognize and promote excellence in biometrics research among students, ensuring the future vitality and sustainability of the field. This initiative also reinforces IAPR’s leadership in biometrics research.
The 2025 IAPR BBSPA has two winners: Nitish Shukla and Xiangru Li (Alphabetical order).
Nitish Shukla, a PhD student at Michigan State University, for the paper titled “Facial Demorphing from a Single Morph Using a Latent Conditional GAN”. The paper, co-authored by Nitish Shukla and Arun Ross, was presented at IJCB 2025.

Xiangru Li, a master student at Guangdong University of Technology, for the paper titled “CVVNet: A Cross-Vertical-View Network for Gait Recognition”. The paper, co-authored by Xiangru Li, Wei Song, Yingda Huang, WeiMeng, Le Chang, and Hongyang Li, was presented at IJCB 2025.
